About
UPDATE: I am no longer making it to Oregon for this. But I encourage those that RSVP’d to message one another and find a good location to meet up at to watch it! ☀️🌑
This year on Saturday October 14, there will be an Annular Solar Eclipse, also known as a "ring of fire," which will pass through Oregon, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas, as well as the corners of Arizona and Colorado. 🚐
I know Crater Lake will be swarmed with photographers as the sunrise over the lake with the eclipse will surely make for stunning pictures, so I'm thinking maybe go to one of the smaller lakes in that region. Sadly the parks no longer offer camping starting October 1st, so boondocking (off-grid camping) seems to be the best option.
Coordinates listed are just an idea. I was thinking Crescent Lake, Summer Lake, or Lake Abert are all possibilities but I don’t know the area well enough to know the visibility there.
