DeSoto Falls Recreation Area

Lovely forest service campground. Two small loops, lower loop/loop A has a bit more space than upper loop/ loop B sites. Campground is just off major road connecting Blairsville to Dahlonega and Cleveland- nestled in north GA mountains. Close access to major hiking trails, vineyards, and mihntain views. About 10 minutes from Neels Gap outfitter and AT trail crossing. Everything you need for resupply is in Blairsville, 30mins north. Helen has excellent German food, 30mins east. Brasstown Bald is GA’s highest peak, 20mins northeast. Lots to do in this area! Campground is reservation only at Recreation.gov. $10 winter season and $20 peak season. $5 day use if you aren’t staying the night. Flush toilets, showers, vault toilet, trash disposal, clean water, hiking trails, and located on a nice creek. Sites are level, gravel, include fire ring and picnic table. Pets welcome- please clean up after them. Minimal cell signal- call and text only. Say hello to camp hosts, Brenda & Doug at site 2.
