West Point Campground

Lovely free camping in El Dorado National Forest right next to the Union Valley Reservoir boat ramp. The 8 free sites are first-come-first-serve, with a 14 day limit. The forest roads up to this location are paved, though high clearance/4x4 may be needed for sites further up the road past the established campground. Each site can fit large rigs and is complete with a campfire pit (permit required!) and picnic table. Vault toilets and a dumpster are on site. Recycling not available. Verizon LTE 3/5 bars. AT&T LTE 2/4 bars. This campground is very clean and very well maintained, please keep it that way by following Leave No Trace and putting all your trash in the dumpster or carrying it out. Lastly, this is bear country, so take necessary precautions with food and other scented items.
