About
This place is a must see if you’re passing through Anacortes!
There are two camping options: RV parking near the entrance, and campsites back up in the forested area of the peninsula. A site with utilities is $27 a night, one without utilities is $21 a night.
If you turn right at the entrance, there are long stretches of green grass, beaches, a boat launch, a dump station, playground, fire pits, and several covered picnic areas.
There’s a port-a-potty by the playground, and a multi-stall public restroom a little further back.
The loop road takes about 15 minutes to drive, and about 40 minutes to walk. There are lots of hills, so it is more like a mild hike.
There are multiple beaches and scenic overlooks along the way, as well as parking and two port-a-potties, about 1/3 and 2/3 of the way along the route.
Lastly, I would not recommend long RVs or vans to drive the loop road, as there are two hairpin turns that would be very difficult for anything larger than a Westfalia to manage.
