Love this area, wish there were trails but the roads do just fine for dog walks and a short jog. Lots of spots, some close and some secluded. Shooting range nearby so be prepared to hear gunfire. Keep your pups on the road - so many pokey things!

The nearby shooting area is my only con to this place. It's easy to get to, has good sites, people have always been friendly and respectful. Watch your pets among the jumping cholla trees. It's a pretty dense cactus forest. Beautiful sunsets. Peaceful nights. Occasionally some road noise in the distance.

Only giving it a 4 because of the closeness of campsites - when on BLM land I tend to expect more privacy. That being said, these campsites are extremely accessible with paved roads almost the entire way then pretty heavily trafficked dirt roads so they’re well established and if you have an issue there are plenty of folks nearby. Great spot to stop in between Tucson and Phoenix with beautiful cacti and very little light pollution.

Lots of dispersed sites down this road, don’t feel the need to clump at the front. The dirt road does get narrow (ie turnarounds may be tight) but it’s packed down and easy to drive on with 2WD. Love being amongst all the cacti 🌵 cell service is decent for att, it’s quiet, and peaceful.

I loved it here! We found a really great spot that already had a fire ring. It was awesome to be among all of the desert plants, especially the saguaro cacti. There was some noise, I’m guessing from a shooting range, in the late evening, but overall it was quite peaceful. Plenty of people came in at all hours and there were plenty of spots for everyone.
