The Wall

Adress: New Orleans, Louisiana

Cost: Free

About

The stretch of N Peters between Elysian Fields & Saint Ferdinand is a regular overnight spot for vehicle dwellers of all types, even large class A RVs sometimes. The wall that separates N Peters from the Mississippi River has faded “No Parking” signs painted on it but they are old and no longer in effect. You are allowed to stay up to 72 hours. Only 2-3 blocks walk to Frenchmen Street, where most locals will tell you to go instead of Bourbon Street. Just 2 or 3 blocks past Frenchmen, in the French Quarter, is a 24 hour deli & small grocery called Verti Mart that serves hot entrees & sides, “Po’ Boy” sandwiches as well as regular sandwiches. A few blocks in the other direction is NOCCA (New Orleans Center for Creative Arts) in the Bywater, New Orleans “most hipster” neighborhood, with restaurants like Pizza Delicious, The Country Club & Satsuma Cafe.
