There is no longer a managed campground at this site; only a managed day use area. Big Bay Recreation Area is set in a red cedar and hardwood forest on the shore of beautiful 53,000-acre Table Rock Lake, a premier vacation spot in the Ozarks. The facility features; picnicking, vault toilet in picnic area, and a boat ramp with parking area near picnic area. Visitors will need to bring their own water for drinking.
Currently the boat launch at the Big Bay Day Use Area near Shell Knob, MO for safety concerns. The ramp has chunks of concrete breaking and leaving drop offs. An individual has been awarded a contract to repair the boat ramp. The work will begin when the water has receded. The District will re-open the ramp once the contract work is completed.
