About
The Heathman Hotel, built in 1927 and a member of Historic Hotels of America® since 1992 was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
Historic Hotels of America is the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation® for recognizing and celebrating the finest historic hotels across America.
Built in 1927, the Italian Renaissance-inspired Heathman Hotel was the immediate toast of Portland among entertainers, lumber barons, and railroad magnates. Today, the hotel is a prominent supporter of the city's cultural and fine arts community; its dramatic Art Deco public spaces provide the perfect setting for an extensive art collection. The Heathman proudly displays pieces ranging from 18th-century French canvases to Andy Warhol's famed Endangered Species series, and each guestroom features original works by artists from the Northwest.
