The lake is named for its distinctive half moon shape and is popular with fly fishing enthusiasts. Cutthroat trout are planted on a regular basis. Eastern brook trout are also present. Camping is not allowed at the lake and no facilities are available. There is a small, steep boat ramp across the road from the small parking area. If you do wish to camp, Browns Lake [http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/colville/recreation/recarea/?recid=67820], South Skookum Lake and North Skookum Lake Campgrounds [http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/colville/recreation/recarea/?recid=67840] are located within a few miles of the lake.
