About

The Bellevue Hotel, built in 1904 and a member of Historic Hotels of America® since 2017, was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. Historic Hotels of America is the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation® for recognizing and celebrating the finest historic hotels across America. The Bellevue-Stratford Hotel is a landmark building in Center City located at 200 South Broad Street, at the corner of Walnut Street, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Constructed in 1904, it has been a well-known institution for more than a century and is still widely known by its original, historic name. The hotel closed in 1986 and the building was converted to a mixed-use development in 1988. It has since been known as The Bellevue. The hotel portion of the building has undergone minor name changes since reopening in 1989. A beacon of sophistication, design, and society, the hotel has hosted royalty, world leaders, cultural icons, and history-making events throughout its 114-year history. Featuring 172 guestrooms and 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space, the hotel underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in 2016. It is currently managed by Hyatt as The Bellevue Hotel.
