About
Great campsite for those that want a great nature experience but with out having to go back country. Pit toilets available (relatively clean as far as those go) and firewood is supplied but needs to be chopped. As far as price it's one of the most decently priced campgrounds in the province at $11 a night no fire permit required (pricing subject to change). Campground back onto the McCloud river which is gorgeous and can be walked down (there are some deep parts, as well as strong currents, as well the river is glacial fed so it is COLD!) Watch for bears as they frequent the river, but rarely come into the campsite. The area surrounding Watson Creek is very wild and offers great hiking, off roading, and mountain biking, breath taking views of the Canadian Rockies and many wildlife viewing opportunities (Big horn sheep, Black bear, Grizzly bear, Elk, deer, moose, wolf, lynx, bobcat, eagles, and many more)
