About
Along Tinkham Road you can camp in any existing obvious campsite along the river. Be aware that it can get busy, and can be trashy as it is a road in the middle of nowhere, right off the freeway. The first 20 yards from the road are usually littered with T.P. and other trash. Around campsites, can be pretty bad like that. Tinkham road is primitive and there are potholes everywhere. Despite the traffic, it gets little attention. Pay attention to posted alerts as bears frequent the area looking for treats, and it is a no burn zone for most seasons, so gas stove is recommended. Shooting is not recommended, but can be frequent. Because of wildlife, (bears) most people are armed.
The good is that there are some grand views of the mountains , the river and forest. There are several trail heads and rock hounding, climbing opportunities.
There are modern facilities about 20 minutes away as well.
