About

Would you like to finally start a meditation practice? Or want to maintain a mindfulness practice you've already established? We are a small but dedicated community (Sangha) practicing a Buddhist inspired approach to mindfulness. We follow The Noble Eightfold Path; maintaining a daily formal sitting practice, we read, learn and discuss Dharma, we have weekly live stream Dharma talks and Q&A's with Buddhist monastics like Venerable Bhante Dhammaloka, as well as practice tea meditation and Insight Dialogue. If this sounds like something that may interest you, please reach out by marking yourself as "going" or "interested," and you'll be contacted with the guidelines which were created in the spirit of insuring that Buddhist Boondockers remain a comfortable and safe place to develop this wonderful practice in harmony with each other in nature and on the road 🪷 Stacey has been meditating and studying Buddhism for over 25 years. She has studied under some of the most prominent Buddhist scholars and Meditation teachers like Bhikhu Bodhi, Bhante Gunarantana (Bhante G) and Sayadaw U Tejaniya to name a few. She's been in both the Ch'an (Zen) and Theravada tradition and has traveled and lived in Myanmar and Sri Lanka to further her knowledge and practice. Stacey has been teaching meditation since 2018 and started leading retreats in person and on line since 2021. Stacey is an extremely dedicated Buddhist practitioner, and nothing gives her more pleasure than sharing what she's spent decades learning with others, especially with the nomadic community. 🪷 This is a free event, there is NO FEE to stay. The teachings of the Buddha have been sustained by the 2,500 year old tradition of Dana, a Pali word meaning "generosity." Your generosity in any form is appreciated. There will also be a few items, like Buddha statues, T-shirts, magnets etc in exchange for any financial contribution. 🪷 Because we are all fully nomadic, we will decide together where we will park/stay (at no cost). We often choose places that aren't too remote, near to groceries, with the best possible conditions. The exact coordinates will be provided as early as possible. 🪷 Though we are primarily a mindfulness camp we do have a weekly potluck, the occasional campfire and field trips (Flagstaff is a 2 hour caravan to National parks in every direction including the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Canyon Lands, Capital Reef, Arches, Great Basin, Mesa Verde and Lake Powell). Wherever we are and wherever we go, we bring our practice with us.
