This free parking lot would be a great day use area. There is a short 1 mile easy but a little steep (stairs) but only 285ft elevation gain loop hike to this national monument that's just amazing to check out. You can see super old dwellings up in the cliffs and actually go inside them! Tons of various rooms people built and used to live in with ladders added to climb and check out. Restrooms, ranger on site 9-4pm (I think?) and museum. Pets are not allowed in the actual hike but they offer kennels if you can't keep them in your vehicle.
