Duncans Mills/Russian River

There’s a few spots along a fenced field behind a cute little shopping hub. There’re no signs around. In the gravel lots for the shops is a port potty and dumpsters - we parked there and walked around the shops. You prolly could park overnight in there but we didn’t want to ask for a knock. We drove around the area a fair bit and saw a sign across the river that said the “county ordinance” max parking was 72 hours. So we figured 3 nights would be fine. We left each day and came back well after the shops were closed. No one bothered us at all. A few cars went by in the evenings but generally very quiet and peaceful. Our Att cell signal was ok here but our T-Mobile wifi didn’t work well AT ALL. Streaming was spotty. Download ahead if you can. The general store is super cute, across HWY 116 are a few more shops and eateries. The pastry 🥐 was divine. Only real grocery is Safeway in Guerneville (we almost stayed there but there was a scary altercation in the parking lot and some shady characters around.) We checked out the River Park there but it was full of shady characters and felt very unsafe (never did figure out how to get IN the water there either!) In Monte Rio you can get access to the Russian River and there is a unique a little movie theater in a quansit hut with an ice cream shop across the street. Sadly, we got NO signal in that area at all. Overall it was a gem only like 20 min inland from the very cold & windy coast.
