We stayed at the south end of the island for a night. It’s a commuter parking lot that charges from 6am-3pm ($10 for cars, $20 for large vans/rigs) but overnight there is no booth attendant and parking is free. We pulled in at 7pm and left at 7:30 without any issues.
Parked by the boat ramp. It’s quite and good views of the bridge over the river.
The lot is very well lit with trash cans and we spotted a porta potty over by the marina on the north end.
