About

Jessie Weaver Trail travels through No Name Canyon. The trail closely follows No Name Creek along its entire length and offers a scenic trip from the bottom of the canyon to the southeastern edge of the Flat Tops. Elevations gradually increase traveling south to north, with mild to moderate grades and several steep, rocky sections. Along the way, visitors are treated to numerous views of the creek and the surrounding cliff faces. The trail also passes by several waterfalls as it travels up the canyon. From the No Name Trailhead [https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/whiteriver/recreation/recarea/?recid=41149&actid=50] parking lot, follow the gravel access road for 0.5 miles past the private property and steel gate. The trail itself begins just north of a pumping station for the City of Glenwood Springs water system. At 3.0 miles (just after the first bridge), the Jessie Weaver trail intersects with the Grizzly Creek Trail #2065. From this intersection, turn left to stay on the Jessie Weaver Trail or turn right to follow Trail #2065 up over the hill and back down into Grizzly Creek Canyon. At approximately 5.0 miles, the Jessie Weaver Trail intersects with East No Name Trail #1849, which travels 1.9 miles northeast to the Bowen Loop. The northern end of the Jessie Weaver Trail intersects Forest Road 631 near Yellow Lake (elevation 10,045 feet). This area also provides good opportunities for climbing, fly fishing, and big game hunting. Use is heaviest in the summer and fall, but the trail also makes for an interesting winter excursion. Restrooms, water, and overflow parking are available at the No Name Rest Area on the south side of I-70.
