Ponderosa Grove Campground

Ponderosa Grove Campground is a quiet, primitive campground named for the canopy of ponderosa pine trees that shade its nine campsites. The campground provides a convenient camping location for visitors to nearby recreation destinations including BLM lands west of Highway 89, the Coral Pink Sand Dunes, and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Non-motorized access to the Moquith Mountain Wilderness Study Area is available across the street from the campground entrance for those interested in hiking and exploring. Additionally, a range of excellent OHV-riding opportunities are only a short drive away. Ponderosa Grove Campground is open year-round. Amenities include two vault toilets, garbage cans, fire rings and grills, picnic tables, and a gravel access road. Sites can accommodate tent campers and trailers up to 24 feet in length. Due to short turnarounds and the campground layout, vehicles over 24 feet are not permitted. Water and hook-ups are not available. Pets are allowed, but they must be leashed while in Ponderosa Grove Campground, and their waste must be properly disposed of. Campsites cannot be reserved; they are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a $5.00 per site/per night fee for the seven individual campsites (up to two vehicles per site), and a $5.00 per site/per night plus $1.00 per person fee for the two group sites (up to ten vehicles per site). Fees must be paid in cash or by check at the campground fee station. America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior and Access Passholders receive a 50 percent reduction in the campground fee.
