Lander City Park Free Camping/Overnight Parking

Address: Lander, Wyoming

Cost: Free

About

Van-friendly overnight parking area along the Po Po Agie River just outside of downtown Lander. The city allows you to park for 3 night or you can tent camp in the well-kept park across the street. Basic bathroom is open all night with toilet and sink and trash. Not particularly clean bathroom, but there was some nice artsy graffiti on the stalls. Felt safe, lots of vans and small RVs around. Nice nature trails and a beautiful roaring river to soothe you. Associated City Park land is very well kept and beautiful with grills and picnic areas, sports fields and more. You can walk to town. Cell service was slow but constant. Head 10 minutes up the canyon to Sinks Canyon State Park for pay camping, beautiful trails and the magical river that sinks into the ground!! 😳🤯

One of the best city campgrounds in the world and should be celebrated as a model for how towns can embrace nomads and vanlifers.
