This is a stretch of beach near Port Aransas and Corpus Christi, Texas, that accommodates dispersed camping; tent and vehicle-based. Miles of beach lined with porta-johns and trash cans. Primitive, but not secluded. Campfires allowed. Sand is hard-packed so plenty of 2WD cars and RVs driving up and down the beach. Sound of surf and gulls is loud and almost completely obscures sound of nearby humans. Foul weather might occasionally render beach impassable or unsafe, but seemingly very popular year-round. Up to 3 nights in same spot. $12 dollar Texas Beach Parking Permit required, valid for remainder of calendar year.
