North Country National Scenic Trail [https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1629/23866957619_bcbb85a882_z.jpg] [https://www.flickr.com/photos/usfs-hmnf/albums/72157660951616613] Marilla Trailhead is the northern most access to the trail on the Huron-Manistee National Forests.  For information on trailheads going north visit the National Park Service website [http://www.nps.gov/noco/index.htm]. A 23-mile loop trail is formed with the Manistee River Trail along the Manistee River.  The loop trail can be accessed from the Marilla and Upper Branch Trailheads for the North Country National Scenic Trail and the Red Bridge and Seaton Creek accesses for the Manistee River Trail. Going South - From Marilla to Upper River Trailhead the trail follows the ridge high above the Manistee River, offering hikers scenic views of the river valley. Mountain bikes are permitted from the Dilling Road crossing to the Marilla Trailhead. Mountain bikes are not allowed on the connector or the section of the trail along the Hodenpyl backwaters. The only water source is at Eddington Creek Crossing, 1.5 miles south of Marilla Trailhead.
